DATA SET
To allow reporters to track school district demographics in Mississippi from 1950 to present day, we are sharing an original data set we built while reporting The White Bonus. These data, drawn from archival sources available only in hard copy, chart enrollment demographics and spending for select public school districts in Mississippi for the 42 years 1945 to 1987. (Data from 1988 forward is readily available online.)
To view the spreadsheets used in reporting, please see The White Bonus: All Mississippi School Data – Enrollment, Funding, and Demographics.
For specifics on the data sources, years covered, and limitations of each source, please see our Table of Contents for The White Bonus’s Mississippi Public Schools and Race Data Set.
To go directly to view the original documents, please see The White Bonus Resources on Document Cloud.
If you would like to track your own school districts demographic changes over time, we have created a spreadsheet template that is available for download.
